All Sambucol products are gluten-free, and almost all the products in the Sambucol product range are considered dairy-free. The only exception is the Cold & Flu Sinus Relief product, which contains lactose derived from dairy. None of the Sambucol liquid products contain nuts or any ingredients derived from nuts.
Due to a lack of clinical data available on the use of Sambucol during pregnancy or breastfeeding, it is advisable to avoid taking the product at this time. Consumers are advised to consult their GP before starting any new supplement or medication during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Not all black elderberry extracts are the same. Sambucol is the original Black Elderberry extract and has been available for the past 20 years. Only Sambucol uses the proprietary elderberry extract used in published clinical studies. Other products use a concentrated, standardized elderberry extract that lacks the natural balance of the elderberry antioxidants found in Sambucol.
